The measure of life is not its duration but its donation.

It is not about simply living a long life; rather, it is about living a life that is full and purposeful.

God determines how long we will live, not us. We may be able to improve the quality of our lives through diet and exercise. But the quantity of our lives – that is up to God. So we should all make sure that we are living our lives well.

a way of life

Freemasonry is kindness in the home, honesty in business, courtesy toward others, fairness in one’s work, compassion for the unfortunate, resistance toward evil, forgiveness for the repentant, love for mankind, and above all, reverence for God.
Freemasonry is many things but, most of all, Freemasonry is A Way of Life.

Abravanel Charity Helps With…

We run CANNED FOOD DRIVES several times each year to help fight hunger by collecting non-perishable foods which are then distributed to soup kitchens, food pantries and other community food programs across New York City and the surrounding areas.

Each Holiday season, we participate in the USMC’s TOYS FOR TOTS program, by collecting new, unwrapped toys and then distributing those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in our communities.

Several times each year we help others in need by participating in BLOOD DRIVES.  By donating blood, we could be helping a child with leukemia, a loved one who was injured in a automobile accident, a woman on an operating table, a fellow Brother – the possibilities are endless; as are the opportunities for this great cause to actually have an impact and help save a life.

Safety ID

Several times each year, we volunteer our time via the New York Masonic Safety ID program to help public safety and law enforcement officials with efforts to keep children and the elderly in our communities safe.

Charity Over The Years

Words of Inspiration

  • One of my most memorable events was at the Police Academy, when it was located in Manhattan. I tabled with one new volunteer. We started working at 9am and finished at 5pm. I had the chance to speak in the auditorium in front of three graduating classes of about 300 police cadets. It was an honor to see so many young faces ready to serve and protect us New Yorkers.

  • As I’ve advanced in Masonry, I have found we are an elite group of people who believe in God, country, family and neighbors. We work hard to help our fellowman; and through our charitable work, such as support for the Childhood Language Disorders Centers, we have made it possible to help many children grow Into good American citizens. We should always be proud of the Order we belong to. Where in all the world do you find so many great men and Brothers who have helped the whole wide world?
